Join us on April 24th, 2025, from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM to honor Dr. Michelle Gerbi’s profound impact on our community.
Dr. Gerbi isn’t just continuing her hands-on practice—she’s expanding. In the coming months and years, Gorge Lactation & Wellness will grow its capacity to serve even more families. She is responding to our community's growing needs by increasing access to lactation care—becoming an in-network provider with most major local insurance providers as well as Medicaid.
We will be fundraising for a grant at this event to support her in her determination to reach women beyond our community and share her two decades of experience working with postpartum women by launching a podcast, Redefining Postpartum. Dr. Gerbi’s podcast tackles the unexpected challenges of postpartum—a time when mothers have the most questions and need the most support, yet often receive the least. Through actionable solutions and advocacy insights, she aims to shift the narrative, empowering women to navigate this critical stage with confidence and clarity.
I was fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Gerbi at a critical moment of need after I had my second daughter. The birth was a dream compared to my first, and yet, within 30 minutes of integrating that experience, I was told my daughter and I were going to have significant challenges nursing. My heart sank. They were right. I did my best to try, and within 24 hours, the midwives were gone, and we were in crisis. I will share more about my story at the event. Let’s just say it was one of the hardest times in my small family’s life. We would not have been able to keep my daughter on track health-wise enough to grow without Michelle’s support.
Since that first era of our relationship, we have been in and out of supporting each other. The last time I used her chiropractic skills was after a black widow bite. My body went downhill quickly, and I had no idea what to do. My intuition led me to call Michelle, even though it was certainly not within the focus of her practice… and I imagine it’s not surprising that she was my core support in recovering back to full health.
As I got healthy again after that health challenge, I felt a commitment growing in my heart—I needed to do something to reflect the impact she has had in my life and invite our community of thousands of families who have also been cared for by her in some capacity.
That’s why we’re coming together—not just to share stories and have a blast, but to fundraise for a grant that will bring her podcast to life. She can absolutely do it herself, but what I know to be true is that with the time a full practice and family life take, it will be a while. We can’t wait! We need to bring this to fruition so that many more people and communities can experience support after adding a baby to their family in their most vulnerable moments. - Briea
